For those in the United Kingdom, the Marylebone Ordinariate Group at St. James Spanish Place (London) is hosting a Solemn Evensong on Sunday, October 7 at 5:30pm, to celebrate the Feast of Blessed John Henry Newman, the patron of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. If you are in travelling distance at that time, please try to attend to support that group, pray for and with the Ordinariate members, and to pray for the conversion of England and the canonization of Bl. John Henry Newman. See the Facebook event for more details.
And for those in California, Bl. John Henry Newman in Orange County is celebrating a Mass for the Feast of Blessed John Henry Newman, the parish patron, also on Sunday, October 7 at 3:00pm. Following that will be a large reception and then everyone will drive over to Blessed Sacrament Episcopal Church in Placentia to join our friends there for a Solemn Evensong in Newman's honor at 6:00pm. This event was inspired by the one in the UK on the same day, and coincides to present a united Ordinariate prayer of thanksgiving for God's grace to us, of thanksgiving for Newman's intercession for us, his children in the faith, of prayer for his canonization, and for the sacramental unity of all people. See the Facebook event for more details.
